When a new teacher in town takes a
long-term sub position, the Principal introduces
the seemingly normal teachers with a good 'ol
"Icebreaker" game... Unbeknownst to the new guy,
the questions and teachers are a bit, well,
unorthodox? I play a teacher who has difficulty
warming to the guest. The short film by

Pictures is darkly comedic, a bit quirky
- and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

A nutty, beautiful little short
about the time director Melani Brown
& her friend
Angela went to a coffee shop, and the barista
told them his name was "Ben" (you know, like the
Michael Jackson song?) thus beginning a tribute
to special friends, sang by the actors
themselves to the tune of the classic hit. The
whole neighborhood comes alive in a montage of
song and dance; I was recorded vocally at first,
and then filmed clowning around with a buddy as
we prepare for a ski trip...

This picture was from the second
performance of Elvis I'd ever done on a cruise ship
(to my knowledge, the only surviving footage...)
While classically-trained in college, I hadn't done
much with my voice until I auditioned to be apart
of the show, got accepted - and agreed to do Elvis
(even though I had never even attempted him at
karaoke before?) I searched online for an Elvis
outfit, and in the promo picture it looked pretty
awesome; when I received it in Hawaii two weeks
later, it was spandex
(I never heard the end
of it...) Some performances were better than others
(one time I came within inches of
Elvis-karate-kicking an elderly woman in the face,)
and towards the end of the run - I gave a scarf
away each performance to an audience member...
